My Doll Collection

I can't remember exactly why I started looking into BJD (ball-jointed dolls) in mid-late 2024, but it rapidly turned into me making a tagged, sorted, filterable database of dolls, clothes, accessories, and more. My budget was low but my aspirations were high.

I wouldn't call myself an expert by any means, and I don't have many dolls, but I love them and I love being able to make things for them! There's a lot I want to do and learn, but I've really enjoyed my doll journey thus far. I have ball-jointed and mechanically-jointed dolls; the community sometimes lumps them together, and sometimes not. There are a few more I'd like to have someday, but I probably need to make space first...

Below is a list of all my dolls, sorted newest to oldest!

Anneliese

Adoption Day
February 13th, 2025 (Gift from my boyfriend đź’–)
Body
Imomodoll Mimi
Head
Imomodoll Ruby

I asked my partner for some storage stuff for my birthday, so I was absolutely not expecting him to show up with this. Her custom body blush by Lilyana is beyond gorgeous and has all sorts of cute little details (her pink nails and eyebrows!). I'm so grateful!

Anneliese also goes by "Annie," but only in very close company. It would be improper for just anyone to call a princess by a nickname, after all!

To Dos:

  • Foam armor for a battle ballgown vibe
  • She needs shoes...

Hattie

Adoption Day
December 12th, 2024 (Purchased secondhand at a Dolly Teria in Japan)
Model
Tinyfox Debby

Meet Hattie! She's a little shy, but very kind. She doesn't always know how to keep a conversation going, but she's a great listener. She has four pet chickens in a coop in her yard. She raises them for their eggs. “Hattie” is usually short for “Harriet,” but hers is short for Heather; “Hettie” was mispronounced so often in her childhood that “Hattie” stuck, but she likes how cute it sounds so she doesn't mind!

When I went to Japan in 2024, the souvenir I really wanted to get was a BJD. I'd thought I wasn't going to find one—all the stores I found were wildly out of my price range, or didn't have dolls small enough for me to pack, or I struggled to match a head and a body. I thought the Dolly Teria I found Hattie at was closed—and by the time I got there I'd given up on finding a doll at all! I got so lucky!

To dos:

  • Cottagecore style dress with the cute chicken patterned fabric I got
  • Tiny crocheted chicken friend
  • A cute little set of overalls for a farmer fit
  • Some kind of diorama set up like a garden

Dan Nie

Adoption Day
October 2, 2024
Model
Penny's Box Antu Nine Colored Deer

Obsessed with the whole set's vibe, I impulse bought this blind box set to split with some friends. I was between Dan Nie here and Celestial Music; I'd settled on the latter, but a friend was interested in her, so I took Dan Nie so the whole box was accounted for. She's a little tricky to pose; I need her held at two points to keep her balanced. Her legs just aren't very stable, so she has a tendency to tilt forwards...

I don't entirely know what I want to do with her besides keep her on my shelf with my roommate's gunpla. She's awfully pretty, though!

Future Doll Plans

My wish list database is vast and expansive, but a lot of it is also just idle considerations (I have it sorted by priority, because I'm a crazy person). Here are some of my more concrete plans:

  • Contact ResinSoul and see if I can get Dawn with the wings from Rainbow
    • It sounds like ResinSoul does mix-and-matches sometimes. I found a recast of the Fairyland Fairy Line Lucywen Winged Centaur, fell in love, and then cried about the price tag of the actual doll. I do like these ResinSoul dolls, though, so I'd be perfectly happy with them, too! I think I'd want to give her a unicorn horn and an ethereal aesthetic, but I haven't picked clothes out for her yet...
  • PokĂ©mon Trainer Doll
    • First, get a Nendoroid face plate
      • I added a Nagi blind box doll to my wish list (and received it from my partner!) without realizing that the “standard” Nendoroid/OB11 hair pieces wouldn't fit them at all… It's a bummer, because I picked that one specifically because I liked the face up. I'm going to try to pick a Nendoroid head that matches the skin tone and has a nice facial expression so I can swap them out and customize her.
  • Clown Doll
    • I want to style a doll like a clown! I think this is going to be my first attempt at a faceup—I'd like to do something with fun clown makeup, of course. My plan is to get another faceplate for my TinyFox Angel body instead of buying a whole new doll, if only for the expense—maybe later down the line I'll get a separate body instead of making two characters share one, but for now, that's what's gonna have to happen!
